Character Name:
Tommy Ryan
Character Age:
22
Physical Description or Celebrity Claim:
Jason Barry
Class (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or Crew):
3rd, and bloody well all right with that.
Strengths (at least 3):
-Not giving a damn
-Drinking
-Leadership
Weaknesses (at least 3):
-A quick temper
-Keeping his mouth shut
-A pretty girl
Personality:
For the most part, Tommy is a pretty laid back guy. A cigarette in hand, a pretty girl to flirt with, and good friends by his side, and he feels like the luckiest son of b*tch in the world. It doesn't take much to please him, but like a true Irishman, it doesn't take much to get him angry, either. Injustice, or just the wrong words on a drunken night, and he'll fight with the best of them.
He's a loyal friend, and definitely a good guy to have on your side in a fight. He's practical and slightly sarcastic. He knows how to enjoy life, but he also knows the limits that his class puts on him, and he has no desire to be a pauper turned prince. If the first class didn't want him, to hell with them and their kind.
He's quick on his feet, quick to either start a fight or get out of one, and takes a sick sort of pleasure in egging people on and getting under their skin. He'll do it even to his friends, though he's a lot nicer when he teases them.
Being a young man, he thinks he's invincible. Nothing can kill him, so he tries everything he wants to. He never quite knows when his next meal will be, so he is grateful for what he has and prays hard for what he needs.
History:
Tommy was born in Dublin to a farming family. He was their only son and grew up on the farm until it was pulled out from under them. His father was forced to work in a mill, and Tommy joined him when he was 12. It was there that he witnessed his father's death. The man was caught up in a piece of machinery, and it was an image that Tommy would never forget.
He was made the man of the house from then on, and dedicated himself to taking care of his mother until she became ill and died as well. Everything Tommy had in Dublin was gone, and it was time for him to get out.
He traveled Ireland for the later half of his teen years, picking up odd jobs where he could until he finally left for England. He didn't last long there, finding the English to be much too snobby for his taste, and saved up what he could, buying a third class ticket on the Titanic to try America on for size.
RP Sample:
"Drinking will kill you eventually, Tommy."
The Irishman waved off the warning from one of the other passengers. "God invented alcohol to keep the Irish from taking o'er the world, you know." He said this over the music and chatter in the dining saloon. The 3rd Class one, anyway, and from what Jack had told him about the 1st class dinner he'd been to, he was quite content to stay down here. At least they had fun.
Speaking of Jack...
"'Ey, Jack, are you bringin' yer goddess among men back tonight?"
